~April 22nd~

Here's a great article from our resident dA news group hq about Earth Day - techgnotic.deviantart.com/jour…

And also a more controversial activist one from OccupyDA occupyda.deviantart.com/journa…

~October 13th~

OK, Halloween is not until 31st October, but reading this journal about the Georgia Guidestones and the controversy, I couldn't help but think that it was for a better future....

What do you think about the rules on the guidestones? :)

~April 22nd~

It's EARTH DAY!! :iconlawooplz: <-happy Greenie

... the environmental equivalent to St. Patrick's Day, where everyone is literally going green. :D

Check out Earth Day.org www.earthday.org/ for some excellent stuff. :)

Also, if you haven't seen dA's promotional leaf thing next to your message centre, dA is selling special shirts made of organic cotton, and donating some of the proceeds to The Nature Conservancy. news.deviantart.com/article/14… I haven't bought a shirt off dA yet, but I think I will actually get this one. :) Two causes for the price of one! :peace:B-) You also get a free tote bag.

Cheers,

There is a video being passed around of a cleanup worker saying that she's getting sick from exposure to toxins. (thanks for the mention, NightMargin )

Here is the original video (posted on this crew member's actual YouTube channel, not a reupload by someone else) :star: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZc9fw… :star: and here is her YouTube channel, with more updates since then www.youtube.com/user/jmrexford

Now, there are some comments about how the eye twitch is faked. That either could be true, or not. I don't know. I'm not a BP fan, but I don't like spreading around false information.

However, here is a video done by a news channel who interviewed someone else whose health was affected. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCSGIU…

Also, here is a news article about the long-term effects of the oil spill - how the oil can seep into the ground, and the toxic sludge can be covered by a thin layer of sand, which appears clean but is still dangerous. :target: www.thestar.com/news/world/art… :target: This is a very recent article, so I'd say it's likely that not only the rescue crews are affected but also people in the area. It's interesting how they said that initially the way the oil was kept offshore by currents and winds was a good thing, but now that the emergency phase is over, whatever oil is left can just land anywhere.

And from ages back - found some BP fake oil spill photos? www.photoshopdisasters.com/vie… still don't exactly know what BP were trying to prove.

If you're against BP or oil in general, please keep in mind that there are groups specifically dedicated to this. :) BPoilspill Fight-the-Oil-Spill

Well, after thinking, I think it is best if I do a major update once a week on the actual journal, and discontinue this digest thing (this will become a 'breaking news' journal). New points added would be at the top of the journal. That way updates are more consistent, and also revives the older points made.

Hopefully it's not too much to have one journal updated a week for people? ^^

Thanks,
Daz
